Ohk, before you wonder, the third one is the Gandhi guy I’m talking about. Actually, I could make a separate post about him all together, but never mind, some time later may be. He is one hell of a man! What personality! And that one person, doesn’t seem to care that he is from which family (that’s the concept in India, you got to be a celebrity’s son/daughter to make it BIG!), but is a name on its own; you can call him Rahul, and needn’t take the full name! Shit! I knew once I start, I won’t stop!
It has been an amazing week for Cricket! And well, I don’t mean, a good one. But one person rose above everyone and etched his name in the golden book of Cricket Romanticism! A game is not about winning, it's always about how it's played! & whether one is just brave enough to compete! Sydney Test! SA are 2-0 up in the series. & in the fourth inning they have to chase a Proteally impossible target! (Yes, well that is a word I invented. Off late, the SA have been chasing some mountainous targets, hence the honor!). To draw the test, they needed to hold on for the day, and when the 5th day’s play had started, they had 9 wickets in hand. Well, it was technically 8, coz the skipper Smith was down, with an injury in the elbow, and a broken little finger! Things weren’t going the SA way, as wickets kept falling. Still 9 overs of the day to go, and oh gosh the 9th wicket fell! Here begins the drama… The astounded audience sees Smith walking towards the pitch, ready to battle it out, to the last breath, or literally, the last wicket! Cutting it short, he couldn’t do it. There were 10 balls left, when he fell. But he had proved a point… a Captain’s Knock always doesn’t involve a ton, or a winning contribution; it is all about leading from the front, giving a conviction, that they can do it!!!!
The second person in the list, Kevin Pietersen… well, after all the greatness, Cricket needed an anti-hero (this word’s in fashion!) & the English Captain did not disappoint the critics. Just coz he didn’t like the coach, he goes into an open war, and resigns his post, putting the English Team in jeopardy! Now, that was some captaincy!!!
Rahul, well, more about him later, I’ve already blabbered a lot! Just that, I came across this info that he might become the Indian PM soon… I sure hope he does. We need to KICK SOME PAKI ASS!!!
